The young Lions in contrary to previous weeks came out of the blocks firing and put scoreboard pressure directly on the stunned Bombers. The boys played the perfect team game and everything they did was working together, sacrificing for their mates and making sure there was only going to be one result – a grand final appearance. The boys held the opposition goalless in the second quarter and the trend continued, with a brilliant defensive effort only allowing three goals for the game. Although it was a brilliant team performance, Chris Jackson, Demasi and Murphy were dominant. Today’s game sees them come up against the minor premiers Benalla in what should be a cracking contest. Go Lions!

It was a close and hard fought loss for the B Grade girls as they went down to the Bears by just three goals in extra time. The theme for the day was that we would start slowly in each quarter and then fight back to break even or just get our noses in front at the breaks. The girls were in front at one stage during the final term in what was a nail biting and exciting quarter that saw the scores even at the siren, forcing the game into extra time. The Bears got on top early and unfortunately we weren’t able to peg back the margin, missing out on a grand final spot. Even though it was a heartbreaking end, the girls should be very proud of themselves for making it this far and having a fantastic season.
